No-Gi Jiu-Jitsu is a dynamic martial art that focuses on grappling and ground fighting without the traditional gi (uniform). It’s a highly practical form of self-defense, teaching students how to control and subdue larger opponents using leverage, technique, and strategy.

Our classes are led by expert grappling coaches who are dedicated to bringing out the best in every student, whether you’re stepping on the mat for the first time or refining advanced techniques.

At Double Dragon, we specialize in No-Gi Jiu-Jitsu, offering an exciting and fast-paced training environment where students can thrive.

FAQ

No experience is required. Our No-Gi Jiu-Jitsu program is beginner-friendly and taught in a relaxed, supportive environment. We start with the basics, and you'll learn at your own pace.

You can wear a t-shirt and shorts to get started. A mouthguard is recommended. As you progress, we stock Double Dragon rash guards, Jiu-Jitsu shorts, and spats, all designed for comfort, durability, and performance.

We focus on No-Gi because it transfers more directly to MMA, self-defense, and stand-up styles like Muay Thai and boxing. It’s faster-paced, highly dynamic, and reflects the modern style of grappling used in real-world scenarios and competition.

It fits perfectly. You can train boxing or Muay Thai and jump straight into Jiu-Jitsu in the same session. It’s a great way to build your ground game and striking together, especially if you’re on our unlimited training plan.

Each class begins with a warm-up, followed by technique instruction, positional drilling, and optional live rounds at the end. We keep things controlled, safe, and tailored to your level.

Yes. Please arrive clean, with trimmed nails, and remove shoes before stepping on the mats. Good hygiene keeps everyone safe and comfortable. We also encourage respect, calm energy, and coachability during class.

It can feel tricky at first. There are lots of new movements and terms to pick up, but don’t stress. Everyone starts as a beginner, and we all remember what that’s like.

You don’t need to be flexible or super fit when you start. That all comes with time and training.

We’re here to help. Our team and members are friendly, and you’re always welcome to ask questions. If you need extra support, personal training is available. Just speak to a coach and we’ll help you stay on track.
